Bernice Jane (Bunny) Gora, of Crystal Lake, peacefully passed away on September 3, 2017 at Journey Care Hospice, Woodstock, Il
A memorial service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Crystal Lake, on September 6, 2017, with Bishop David Tomlinson officiating.
Cremation was handled by Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, Crystal Lake.
Bunny was born in Chicago on August 26, 1929. She Graduated from Amundsen High School.
Bunny worked as a telephone switchboard operator at Passion Construction Company until marrying John R. Gora in Chicago on November 1955.

Bunny was born in Chicago on August 26, 1929. She Graduated from Amundsen High School.
Bunny worked as a telephone switchboard operator at Passion Construction Company until marrying John R. Gora in Chicago on November 1955.
Bunny and John moved to Crystal Lake in 1962 upon the completion of the home they built. They divorced in 1965.
She started, Bunny's Ceramic Studio, teaching ceramics in her basement in 1963 and continued teaching ceramics for over forty years. Over the years Bunny held many jobs, house cleaner, waitress, cook, until going back to work for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a repair operator where she retired in 1989.
Bunny was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints, Crystal Lake.
She loved to volunteer. Some of the organizations where Bunny volunteered were Illinois Children's Home and Aid Society, McHenry County Multiple Sclerosis Society, Project Linus, and the McHenry County Senior Services Association in Crystal Lake.
Bunny enjoyed ceramics, gardening, knitting, and crocheting blankets.
She is survived by three daughters Kitty (Colin) Comer of Fulton Missouri, Judy Sopala of Stevens Point, Wisconsin and Cindy (Tom) Hayden, Crystal Lake, Illinois; grandsons, Thomas Spence of Seattle, Washington and Luke Hayden of Iowa; a niece, Patricia Roderick of Torrance, California, and a nephew, Michael Roderick of Janesville, Wisconsin; and many lifelong friends.
Bunny was preceded in death by her father Thomas Beatty, mother Grace Schultz and sister Patricia Roderick.
