Jack W. Harvel, 80, of Algonquin passed away April 2, 2015 at Alden Terrace in McHenry.
He was born February 21, 1935 in Crystal Lake to Wates and Irma (Ashbaugh) Harvel. Jack served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was stationed in the Mediterranean. He was an avid fisherman and had a good sense of humor.
Jack is survived by his siblings, Lee (Jane) Harvel, Bev (the late Dave) Engelbrecht, Linda (Bill) Deates, Toni (Ray) Buzbee, and Tere (Larry) Tipton; and many other family members too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and his sisters, Mel (Don) Lang, Betty (Ray) Anderson, and Sharry (Jim) Sherman.
According to Jack's wishes there will be no services at this time but there will be an ice cream social at a future date.
