Virginia Cizek, 96, of Crystal Lake IL passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Sherman Hospital Elgin IL. Born 1918 Chicago IL. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic grade School in Melrose Park. She attended Proviso High School in Maywood. After graduation, she went to Comptometer school for bookkeeping. Employed by Workman Services Company, John Sexton Co., Montgomery Ward, and several private employers. Virginia then taught Kindergarten through 3rd grade at Saint Donatus in Cicero. Virginia Cizek, 96, of Crystal Lake IL passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Sherman Hospital Elgin IL. Born 1918 Chicago IL. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic grade School in Melrose Park. She attended Proviso High School in Maywood. After graduation, she went to Comptometer school for bookkeeping. Employed by Workman Services Company, John Sexton Co., Montgomery Ward, and several private employers. Virginia then taught Kindergarten through 3rd grade at Saint Donatus in Cicero. She married and raised three children. Later in life she was very active in volunteer work including U.S. Navy Sea Cadets program, Catholic youth disabilities, and donated time at the Little Christopher resale shop in Crystal Lake. She loved playing bridge and was very active in several bridge clubs. Virginia was a long time member of the woman's guild of Saint Thomas the Apostle Church where she also served as a Sacristan for many years.

Virginia is survived by her children, Janet Muto and James Cizek; seven grandchildren, Chris, Julie, Brian, Andrew, Patricia, and Christina; and eight great-grand children, Brittany, Dylan, Christopher, Katie, Sarah, Emme, Christina, and Nicholas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; a brother, Carl; a son, Roger; and a sister, Geraldine.

Visitation will be from 2:30 until 7 pm on Monday, March 30 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave. Crystal Lake. Funeral mass will be at 11 am on Tuesday, March 31 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave. Crystal Lake. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside.
